Jennifer Keir
My name is Jennifer Keir and I am supervised by Dr. Paul White and Dr. Jules Blais at the University of Ottawa. I am a first year MSc student in the Chemical and Environmental Toxicology program, having completed a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Western Ontario in 2014. My project is looking at occupational exposures of Ottawa firefighters to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and other organic mutagens. Using urine samples from before and after fighting a fire event, I will be able to see changes in PAH metabolite concentrations and mutagenicity from the organic extracts of the urine.
