Adelle Strobel
I began my university journey at McMaster University, studying Integrated Science with Biochemistry, a degree merging many fields of science into research projects. I am passionate about researching complex environmental issues by focusing on the intersection of biology, environmental science, and chemistry. This led me to Dr. Robert Letcher’s laboratory at the National Wildlife Research Centre, Carleton University. Here we have the opportunity to study the impacts of human activity on vulnerable ecosystems when environmental contamination meets Arctic physiology. My project focuses on the metabolism and fate of organophosphate esters in polar bears and ringed seals, and the relationship between predator and prey.
