Alexandre Salat

I am a Master’s student at the University of Ottawa studying Biology with a specialization in Chemical and Environmental Toxicology. I am currently in my second year of study under the supervision of Dr. Jules Blais. I completed my undergraduate degree in Environmental Science at Carleton University, Ottawa.
 

My research will focus on polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) associated with mining operations in the Athabasca oil sands region of Northern Alberta. Using a paleoecotoxicology approach I will determine if PAH toxicity has changed over time due to current mining operations.
