Ashley Newbigging

I graduated in June 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science at the University of Alberta. Although I am certified to work as a medical laboratory technologist in clinical laboratories, I wanted to do a Master's in Laboratory Medicine and Pathology in the division of Analytical and Environmental Toxicology. My research focus is developing assays using DNA nanotechnology for applications in clinical labs. I am currently working on developing an assay to detect mitochondrial DNA mutations.
