In 2017, I graduated Lakehead University with an honours degree in Applied Biomolecular Sciences. I worked as a research assistant, and as a Quality Control technician before coming to the University of Ottawa in May 2018, as a MSc student under Dr. Jules Blais. The objective of my study is to use sediment to reconstruct the history of pollution within lakes. I will be looking specifically at metals and persistent organic pollutants. With other researchers covering different portions of this multi-faceted project, we hope to identify the primary stressors impacting the lakes, as they are subjected to numerous stressors including: agriculture, aquaculture, fur farming, and residential areas.
