After completing my BSc in Biochemistry and Biotechnology at Carleton University, I am now working on my MSc in Biology at Dr. Carole Yauk’s laboratory at Health Canada. My project focuses on applying toxicogenomics to develop fast and efficient methods for genotoxicity screening and obtaining important mechanistic information. Currently, I am testing the utility of qPCR gene expression profiles as an in vitro biomarker for identifying DNA damage-inducing chemicals, as part of an initiative to reduce animal testing.
