Shortly after completing my undergraduate degree in Microbiology at McGill University, I joined the workforce for a few years as lab technician and research assistant. Throughout the years, I have accumulated experiences in various fields of microbiology including medical, agricultural and environmental. After contemplating on my career goals, I have decided to further pursue an academic path and seize the opportunity to expand my knowledge in the field of microbiology. After completing my MSc at Laurentian University. I have found it fascinating to explore and understand both the small scale and global impact microbes have on the environment and human health. As I transition to research in the role of the gut microbiota on human health and exposure to inorganic contaminant, I would be able to contribute and expand the field of microbiology. My research objective is to understand the mechanism between inorganic contaminant transformations by the gut microbiome.
