Lesya Marushka
I am a PhD student at the University of Ottawa. My research interests lie in the field of environmental toxicology and human health. Working with Dr. Laurie Chan, my project focuses on the relationship between dietary exposure to persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and type 2 diabetes in Canadian First Nations using First Nations Food, Nutrition, and Environmental Study (FNFNES). I am also exploring other risk factors that may lead to high rate of diabetes in First Nations communities.
