After completing my undergraduate degree in Cell Biology at University of Alberta, I started my MSc in Biology with a specialization in Chemical and Environmental Toxicology at University of Ottawa, under supervision of Dr. Laurie Chan and Dr. Jing Wang. I have a strong interest in discovering the mechanisms of how environmental contaminants affect human health at subcellular level. My research aims to investigate the effect of methylmercury exposure on neural stem cell development in the cerebral cortex and its relationship to neuronal degeneration and cognitive deficit, and to uncover the underlying mechanisms.
